Teacher Training Course
This course is a refresher course for existing teachers of English or an introductory course for Graduates wishing to become teachers of English in their own country.The course is designed to give students with at least intermediate level of English a theoretical knowledge of the skills and methodologies currently employed in English language teaching.
The course focuses on a number of areas:
Language awareness
Revising and/or improving language level,
Teaching Methods
Introduce traditional approaches and also the latest methodologies and techniques in teaching English (eg TBL,NLP)
Materials and Resources
Introducing and evaluating many of the latest published materials and exploring the use of authentic materials and realia
Skills Development
The 4 skills, integrated and authentic skills, testing and error correction.
Classroom observation
Observing experienced teachers employing the skills and methods studied during the course in real classroom situations
Irish Culture, History and LiteratureVisits to places of cultural interest and an introduction to Irish history and literature.
