OUR POLICIES AT ACTIVE LANGUAGE LEARNING

At Active Language Learning, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for all our students and staff. Our policies reflect our dedication to excellence, compliance with regulatory standards, and our responsibility as an accredited educational provider.

1. Academic Quality & Accreditation

We uphold the highest academic standards as an EAQUALS-accredited school and are actively preparing for full compliance with the TrustEd accreditation framework, which replaces ACELS from 2025. Our policies ensure structured course delivery, continuous academic review, and qualified, experienced teachers who receive ongoing professional development.

 

2. Child & Student Protection

Our Junior Student Protection Policy outlines rigorous safeguarding measures for students under 18. This includes staff conduct guidelines, restricted electronic communication, and designated Child Protection Officers trained to respond to and report concerns. All staff working with minors undergo thorough vetting and training.

3. Health & Safety

We maintain strict health and safety protocols in line with Irish law. Our facilities are regularly checked for compliance, and our staff are encouraged to complete certified first aid training, supported by an incentive scheme. We partner with Aqua Fire Prevention for the servicing and upkeep of all fire safety equipment, with biannual checks and staff training as standard.

4. Equality & Inclusion

We believe in equal opportunities for all and strive to create an inclusive environment regardless of nationality, gender, age, ability, or background. While we currently do not offer braille services, we adapt our teaching methods to support blind or visually impaired students through dialogue-driven and auditory-focused learning.

5. Accommodation & Welfare

We ensure students, especially those under 18, are placed in safe, welcoming host family accommodations within easy reach of the school. Group leaders are housed nearby to provide support and ensure student welfare at all times.

6. Environmental & Community Commitment

As a family-run Irish-owned business, we take pride in supporting the local community. Our face-to-face, in-house teaching model ensures that 100% of our economic activity directly benefits local partners, including accommodation providers, transport services, shops, restaurants, and staff.

7. Confidentiality & Data Protection

We strictly adhere to GDPR and data protection laws. All personal information is handled with the utmost confidentiality. Staff and partners operate under signed agreements that uphold these standards.

8. Code of Conduct

Our staff and students are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. Clear procedures are in place for addressing grievances, disciplinary issues, or inappropriate behaviour
